outdoors

To day was Poppies first trip out into the back garden, She scoured all the fences to find a hole to get through  but luckily did not find one as I had spent quite a time checking everywhere. It was sunny and warm so I sat outside with her for about 20 mins whilst she explored and then tried to get her to come inside with a few dreamies which she normally loves but totally ignored!! eventually I had to get a bowl of food and leave it just inside the door and when she got quite close to it I grabbed her and in we went. She was quite happy I was a nervous wreck incase she escaped. I think next time it will be when I have nothing else to do but be in the garden with her.

This afternoon is Zumba time and I did enjoy spending time with friends and then popping into Morrisons and getting a disc engraved for her collar. must put it onto her new collar before she goes out again. Time for tea now bye from Poppy and Me

week 2

We have been together 2 weeks now and little by little we are getting to know each others foibles ( not that I have many). she does not sleep on my bed despite trying to and I do not get up early  to feed her. She gets her breakfast before I get my first coffee as I am afraid I will trip over her constantly being around and between my legs! she loves looking out of the windows and I think I will give up feeding the birds as she is so quick and will catch a lot of them, so at the moment I am using up all my bird food and then will stop feeding them. Poppy is desperate to go outside but will have to stay indoors for another week so today I have sent for a flea collar for her, I can't believe how expensive it is but my daughter assures me that it will last for 8 months and is very efficient, she should know as her 4 cats all use them. This weekend I am on cat feeding duty for 6 cats, as my family is having a short break. Think of me early in the mornings and evenings as I am feeding Poppy, then grandsons Jaffa then onto daughters 4 cats Bernard Millie,  Jinny and Roxy. think I'll get through lots of stroking and cuddles. I am having my first live streaming football match on Saturday afternoon, I wish I was at Ipswich Town  to see them live but this is the best I can do for the next few months lets hope I am a happy bunny after the match ends, or will I have to have chocolate to console me??

We have just had a power cut here and my neighbour wants me to go and reset her heating timer so it goodbye ffrom Poppy and me xx

Whose in Charge?

I thought I would be in charge of one cat but Poppy has other ideas, She thinks my bed is quite big enough for two and wants to keep me company all night, I disagree. We have compromised by her not sleeping with me but she now tries to wake me up around 6 am to give her  her breakfast. I am trying to resist this as I don't want to get up that early!!! She likes to sleep on my armchair when I am out and does not take kindly to being  moved off. last evening she sulked when I moved her so I could watch the football on tv hid behind the blinds with just her tail poking out like aa accusing finger> My daughter says she probably just doesn't like football did no one tell her football and me are bonded together. I must get her a blue and white collar with ITFC on it. This week I returned to Zumba gold seated sessions ( for those 'girls ' who find Zumba too much!!!) It's been online since Lockdown began but I chickened out of Zoom. Lovely to return and do excercise to great music and lots of laughs. We always had coffee and chat afterwards but of course that is not allowed so bring your own water so when we left we all had a chat with masks on in the carpark socially distancing of course.

back to Poppy, the weather has been warm and sunny and that is a problem as Poppy is not allowed out for 3 weeks so all the windows and doors are shut making it hot indoors. I need  the fan on in the lounge and conservatory,  Poppy hates them so I'm sitting in front of them and  she's lying behind them, a sneaky way to get her off my armchair is to switch the fan on and she will hop off the chair!!!

Some one wants to be stroked now so thats all

Our first week

This is my first ever blog so I hope that if anyone reads it they will understand if I mess it up!

Poppy my new rescue cat arrived a week ago I have been waiting a long time for a cat as I had decided to have a cat just before lockdown and so had to wait until we emerged in order to find a rescue cat that I liked  and the cats protection league thought fitted me!She is completly black with yellow eyes is 9 years old and very friendly, I couldn't visit her at the cattery due to Covid restrictions so we met in my lounge,. She is very friendly and we got on well together. Poppy has quickly learned where everything is in my bungalow  and is now quite at home She has made friends with my family and knows where the Dreamies are kept   anything for a Dreamie!!! At present she is lying on the sofa in the sun  next to me and we keeping our fingers crossed that I can post this.
